GHOST is pleased to present “Shelf Life” the first solo exhibition of New York based photographer Agustin Hernandez, whose surrealist photography captures a modern youth with a decadent and deliberate color signature. While the images are rich aesthetically, they are filled with deep symbolism, love and dark humor. The exhibition will open on August 25th at GHOST Satellite located at 63 Orchard Street in New York City. The opening reception will start at 7pm and close at 10pm. The show is curated by the gallery’s director, Stephan Alexander.

The suggestive objects that make up Andrew Clark’s “Prone”, explore the fallacy of gender roles and masculinity. Androgynous forms mimic the human anatomy and grapple with the conflict of the artist’s own identity. A cutting but clean confrontation of the sexual body, queerness and erotic ambiguity. “Prone” is made up of 16 works employing glass, steel, wax, wood, rubber, fiber, video and performance.
We are pleased to present BED SHOW, a 3-day exhibition at Ghost Gallery. This group show
features all new work centered around sleep, and the objects, rituals, and behaviors that
accompany it. For BED SHOW, artists are asked to create their concept of a bed or sleeping
space.

Queen Black America is an installation across many mediums, employing photography, digital art, video, sculptural pieces, poetry and music. The piece creates a dream state fantasy world that transports the audience inside the artist’s belly to feel, alongside him, the struggle to create and overcome. The study began with photography as Cha’ves struggled with depression in his Harlem apartment. He imagined spinning around in a field, trying to do whatever he could to get a glimpse of himself.

If Atlanta hasn’t already been crowned the goldmine of fresh new hip hop, consider King J’s rise the city’s official christening: with a debut EP focusing on “everyday shit” (thought it’s anything but ordinary), titled My Favorite Things, and a degree in the works from NYC‘s own Columbia University, this rapper is putting his stake in the ground as yet another lyrical genius in the making. And as for that debut EP, he credits many, many folks with its creation; friends, family, and experiences (both personal and universal) played a role in its emergence.
