Ghost Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of After All…Do You Remember, the first solo exhibition by artist duo Jared Oppenheim and Alannah Farrell. The show will feature collaborative work from the artists created between the years of 2016 and 2018.
The exhibition features five large oil paintings mounted in solid steel frames, along with six smaller oil paintings and sensory installation pieces. Together, this creates an immersive three-room installation that allows the viewer to be guided through a process of experiential enlightenment. The artist duo began working together in the summer of 2015 in an effort to merge, not just their mutual practice, but also their individual subconscious. The conjoint pieces shown are presented as a full body of work and the culmination of three years studio collaboration.

Jared Oppenheim b. 1989 NYC is an abstract artist whose approach to painting is inspired by his extensive travel, often drawing parallels to what defines impermanence. Impossible moments, dreamlike experiences, and childhood memories are themes that weave in and out of his work. His current paintings use form, and ultimately minimalism to arrive at a crossroads between constructivism and future virtual and digital identities. Oppenheim lives and works in New York City.
Alannah Farrell b. 1988 Kingston, NY arrived in New York City at the age of seventeen with the pursuit of higher education and a unique approach to figurative painting that landed her awards and accolades at a young age. She graduated with a B.F.A from Cooper Union in the spring of 2011. Between 2013 and now, she has held solo and group shows in New York, London, and Berlin.
She is currently one of 19 members of The Painting Center in Chelsea, New York, which is a non-profit foundation and gallery dedicated to the exploration of painting in all its possibilities, schools, and traditions. Farrell’s technique is rooted in classical portraiture, her aesthetic blends figurative storytelling with semi-realism. Farrell lives and works in New York City.
One of the obstacles of being a creative diad is separatism and the inability to let go of artifice and ego. In order for Oppenheim and Farrell to obtain a new and refreshing stylistic approach, both artists set aside their differences and began to focus on their respective strengths. Oppenheim and Farrell's paintings seamlessly integrate their vastly different techniques to produce one cohesive and formed work. Developing this cohesiveness is a process in itself that took years to refine. The result is a brilliantly embedded dialogue between the pair?
After All…Do You Remember is first and foremost a love letter, a fleeting moment, a memory lost or forgotten. It is a series that takes on many fronts and facets and asks the viewer to question what memory and its imperfections mean to them. By using their personal experiences the artist duo invites the viewer on their own journey. Through multi-room installations, it is apparent that the two artist’s take on visceral exploration is paramount to their own experience, as well as how they present their work.
